I know I say this every time I get around to writing a blog post, but it seems an absolute AGE since the last one! And when I look back over the last few, there are SO many awesome weddings that I haven't got around to featuring. There is now hope on the horizon however as my toddler nears preschool age and my time in the office gets more frequent. Phew! So I plan to catch up and bring you all that has been missed .... hopefully!

Anyway, I can't go any longer without showcasing this total gem of a wedding from last year, and I would go so far as to say that it was possibly my favourite from 2022. It's certainly the one that lives on the most prolifically due to the star array of photos captured that day by the amazing Jessy Papasavva. Thank you so much for sharing them with us, Jessy xx

The flower and colour choices for this wedding were sublime. Stunning. Inspired! This one above is my favourite wedding bouquet photo for a long time. It has such a delicate feel to it and is quite simply so pretty. Hope you agree?

Chloe and Alastair were such a friendly chilled-out couple, and their choice of venue in Warmwell House was total perfection. Even more perfect was their wedding date; that singular time of year when the ranunculus are still hanging on, peony season has begun, the roses are getting in to the swing of things and we even managed to find some late blossom. Mixing these with delicate maiden hair fern, oxypetalum, lily of the valley and perfumed stocks created a heady combination.

We included locally-grown blooms from both Katie at Dorset Flower Co and Heather at Green Valley, as well as hand-dyed silk to trail from Chloe's bouquet.

The aisle in the ceremony barn at Warmwell House was lined with pretty chair posies, and at the end stood a living arch from local plant hire company White Stem. We carefully wired blooms in amongst the climbing jasmine to add colour and interest.

The bridal party were beautified by our lovely friends from Amazing Face and the bridesmaids wore dusky-rose pink frocks.

The marquee was supplied by Abbas Marquees, and the grounds at Warmwell House were looking truly stunning.

Not every wedding set-up goes as planned of course, so a little story, if I may? Chloe had provided lovely bottles for the tables which we had filled with locally-grown digitalis, aquilegia and grasses amongst other things. But as the day warmed and the marquee sides had to be lifted, the breeze also picked up and the bottles weren't sturdy or stable enough to withstand it. Cue a very quick round trip of over 20 miles (whilst the ceremony is already underway) back to our workshop to pick up sturdier bottles of our own, get back to the marquee, switch them over and vacate the site. Sometimes we have to make quick decisions or judgement calls and then just make it happen! I doubt that Chloe or Alastair knew we even did it, but I can't leave a venue without knowing that every aspect of our work is spot on, and those table decorations needed perfecting! In the end they not only looked fabulous - giving a delicate herbaceous feel to the wedding breakfast and echoing the garden surroundings - but they also all stayed upright all afternoon, thank goodness :-)

All in all it was a fabulous event and I hope Chloe and Alastair are now enjoying married life to the max having already celebrated their first anniversary earlier this year.
