Back in the days when I owned my own (rather beautiful!) flower shop, I had a regular customer called Barbara. She was a lovely lady, but I didn't see her for a few years after I sold the business... until one day I got a call out of the blue from her to say that her daughter Rebecca was getting married and she'd been trying to track me down.
The event was to be held in the grounds of the family home near Dorchester, following a intimate ceremony at the Chapel of St Mary within the estate of Lulworth Castle.
Shortly after this, I got to meet Bex when she came with Barbara to talk through their ideas for the big day. Together, we started to make a flower plan...
The bridesmaids were going to wear pale lavender dresses and the flowers were chosen to compliment these with the addition of palest blush-pink, delicate blue, ivory and grey. The palette was of the softest pastels, with a dreamy wistful feel.
Bex wanted the style of the flowers to be fairly loose and rustic, and I added delicate grasses to continue this theme.
Hand-dyed silk ribbons from Lancaster and Cornish were left long to trail from the flowers and catch in the wind.
Tom's Mum is also a talented florist, and she had been asked to take on the epic task of decorating the church and venue, so it was an honour for us to be chosen to create the key bouquet and buttonhole pieces, leaving the higher-stress factor up to Veronica. She did a fantastic job, and we supplied her with roses in delicate shades to match those in the bouquets, so that everything tied together beautifully.
Amid a flurry of beautiful guests, numerous oh-so-cute babies and lots of smiling faces, the big day went off with a bang. And despite a bit of drizzle early on, the sun shone for most of the festivities.
Here I leave you with more images by their wonderful photographer Josh, and you can scroll down to see Clementine Cusack's magical film showing the whole weekend of celebrations including a dip for all the guests in the blue waters of the Jurassic Coast.
