Yes yes, I'm aware that I'm a bit behind with showcasing real weddings here on my blog.... the last annual recap was pre-Covid! Don't worry, I'll catch up but in the meantime I'm actually going to go backwards.... (bear with me!)
We're heading all the way back to 2017 when Frankie and Will got married in their own inimitable style. Most of the celebrations happened right on the edge of our local pine forests here in Dorset, in an eye-catching tipi marquee at Greenwood Grange, just a stone's throw away from Thomas Hardy's small but very famous cottage.
Frankly, I can't believe I've never featured this wedding on my blog before. The colours were spectacular and showed off the best that autumn has to offer. Frankie's ideas were different and lovely, and even now 6 years on I remember them as a really fun and friendly couple to work with. They were such a sweet pair, and their love for each other was very clear and evident.
The joyous images of their day were all created by my friend Linus (Linus Moran Photography) and precisely capture the intimacy and love between these two special people. The backdrop of the woodlands gave the perfect feel to what was a truly Dorset-inspired celebration. And Frankie completed her list of excellent suppliers by choosing the wondrous Caroline and Elke from Amazing Face to give her the finishing touches.
We made unique choices for the bouquets; Frankie's eclectic mix featured a range of locally grown dahlias but also deep-maroon pomegranate fruits. The bridesmaid's posies were based around globe artichoke buds which gave them a texture all of their own.
And of course those flower-crowns ... striking, dainty and oh-so pretty. Frankie's contained wild rosehips, raspberry-toned heather and chocolate-scented cosmos. A delight to create and a vision to wear.
